Mr Mak was educated at the University of Hong Kong and graduated with a Bachelor degree and a Master degree in TCM. He started his over 15 years TCM career from 2007. He studied the Postgraduate Diploma of pain management and Postgraduate  certificate of oncology at the School of Professional and Continuing Education, The University of Hong Kong in 2015 and 2017. In 2017, he participated in the Chinese Medicine Practitioner Senior Scholarship Scheme offered by Hong Kong Hospital Authority Chinese Medicine Department, and went to a famous Chinese medicine hospital for further study (acupuncture, dermatology and oncology).

He worked as a senior Chinese medicine practitioner in Christian Family Service Centre – The Chinese University of Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Centre cum Training and Research Centre (Kwun Tong District) organized by the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. Apart from providing clinical services, he was also a trainer in the training programme for further Chinese medicine practitioners. He have also been invited by different organizations to give lectures on TCM on different topics to promote TCM.
