Lily Lai has been in clinical practice providing acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in Hertfordshire for over 10 years.  Her specialism is in offering natural solutions to health problems that are difficult to manage in primary care.  Since 2010, Lily has worked with GPs and health researchers to develop further the scientific evidence on herbal medicine.  She was awarded her PhD in 2015 by the University of Southampton Primary Care department for her research into Chinese herbal medicine and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). 

Lily has worked in a range of multi-disciplinary settings in the UK and abroad, including London’s Whittington Hospital NHS Pain Clinic and integrated medicine hospitals in Beijing and Singapore.  Because of her clinical training and research, she is particularly well known for her expertise in pain management, PCOS and fertility support.

Lily remains at the forefront of conventional and complementary medicine research and has previously reviewed complementary medicine research for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.  She is an MSc supervisor and lecturer at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York and actively shares her research through scientific publications and conference presentations in the UK and overseas.
