Dr. Carmel Clancy is an internationally respected leader in addiction and mental health education, and professional accreditation. She currently serves as Director of the Centre for Credentialing and Accreditation with the International Consortium of Universities for Drug Demand Reduction (ICUDDR), following her tenure as Dean of the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education at Middlesex University, London.
During her time at Middlesex University, Dr. Clancy, as Head of Department, supported the development and delivery of programmes in Integrative Medicine—including Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, and Acupuncture—prior to their withdrawal. She continues to hold the title of Emerita Professor within the Faculty and brings over 30 years of expertise in nursing, curriculum development, and evidence-based practice.
A registered mental health and adult nurse with the UK Nursing and Midwifery Council, Dr. Clancy pioneered Europe’s first master’s degree in co-morbidity (dual diagnosis) and founded My Care Academy, a collaborative innovation network for mental health knowledge exchange. She has held several distinguished leadership roles, including President of the International Nurses Society on Addiction (IntNSA) and Member of the Advisory Council for the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD).
A Fellow by Distinction of the UK Faculty of Public Health, Dr. Clancy continues to shape global standards in health and addiction education.
As Chair of the TCMAB, she is dedicated to advancing excellence, integrity, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in Traditional Chinese Medicine accreditation and practice.
